I have been reading more than one book throughout the quarter but Tuesdays with Morrie seemed like a great one to write about. Tuesdays with Morrie was written by Mitch Albom and is a fiction. The book is Amazing one of the best I have ever read, it is a story about an old professor who is dying but remains able to change the lives of others, one who was a previous student of his who saw him on TV one night and decided to get in touch with him again. Morrie, the professor, spends each Tuesday with Mitch where they talk about everything from love to money to the fear of aging. Morrie is a very intelligent old man that is becoming weaker and weaker but is still looking on the bright side of the things that have come upon him. This book has 192 pages of great life lessons that I believe are not only heard by Mitch but also by the reader. I was a little skeptical about this book when I first started reading it but as I got further into the book it taught me things. Morrie, a wonderfully insightful man, has become reliant on other people to help him with everything that he has to do everyday. He can no longer go to the bathroom on his own, can't stand on his own, or even leave his house anymore. Mitch, a very successful man, feels like he is missing something. He has a job that he really likes and a wife that he loves. The book goes through each Tuesday that Mitch and Morrie spend together talking about all things about life. Each Tuesday there is a new subject that they discuss deeply and fully. Mitch sees a physically weak man but very strong individual on the inside, Morrie explains to Mitch all the things that he has come to understand. Mitch gets to have a second chance at living life because of all the friendship that he had with a great professor. I have not reached the end of this book but believe that it ends with Morrie dying and Mitch understanding more about life and its wonderful gifts.
I really recommend this book because not only do you learn about Mitch’s life and Morrie’s life near death, but you also learn a lot of what Morrie teaches about life and its values. It is definitely mind changing and very intense. The author does a great job portraying each character and showing the relationship that Mitch has built with Morrie. The book is set up like an outline of Mitch’s life beginning when he first met Morrie to when he went back to visit him on Tuesdays. Morrie’s character makes me think a lot about life and how we live it, if we see all the negative things or look for the positive. It is a small book but has a lot to offer. It has changed the way people look at life and is just AMAZING!!!!! Everyone must read this book because it will change your life!

I love Mitch Albom!! I've read For One More Day and The Five People You Meet in Heaven, and those were amazing books with great life lessons. However, I've tried reading Tuesdays With Morrie a few times and it just seems to deep for me, which is why I think that anyone who reads the book is just short of genius :)
Lindsey! =) first of all thank you for letting me borrow Tuesday's With Morrie during class today! I read about the first five chapters and didn't want to stop! It seems like a real heart-warming story and one of those can't-put-it-down books! I love stories like these where you can learn about life and feel a part of the story because you just love reading it. You almost feel as if you just want to jump in and talk with them! Or jump in and tell them what is going to happen if you already know one side more than the other! It also seems really touching as well because of the connection of an elderly man with a young man. That is neat that two people who grew up in completely different times can have such a connection.
I've been wanting to read this book because i loved The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I don't know why I haven't come to think of it, becasue it is so short. The way you described it made me realize that books don't have to be lengthy to be inspirational. Mitch Albom has relatively small books but such huge storylines. I'm planning on reading this book soon! =)
