Website of the Week! THE OWL

Before clicking onto the latest website of the week, I was like what is The Owl?? I found out it stands for the online writing lab. It is like the writing bible online. I found this website to be extremely helpful for many reasons. First off, there is so many grammar rules, and even though we have been in school for 13 years, I still don't know them all. Secondly, next year, we are going to be expected to use the MLA format, APA format, and any other formats out there. This website will always be there to show me how to do each of these. Therefore I won't be sitting in the library looking around for the MLA format. (I'm pretty sure I know how that one looks...thanks to Ms. Fletcher.)

For those of you who never took ROP, like myself, there is even a resume how-to section. It tells you what employers are looking for in a resume and it gives you a sample resume to look at. The website also includes: the basic business letter format, the writing process, and the list goes on and on. You can pretty much find anything and everything to write a well-organized and thoughtful paper. I love the fact that all the technical details are included on the website: where the semi-colon should go, how to format the reference page, where your thesis should go, and so on.

I will definitely bookmark The Owl, because next year (when I don't have Ms. Fletcher to guide me), I know I'm going to be using it a lot! I recommend you all check it out! It is fun to just browse the website. There is so much information on there to help us out with our writing.

Thanks for the recommendation Ms. Fletcher!
