Just a thought...

What would Chris have done if he lived? Would he grow tired of the wild and the lifestyle or would he return home to ordinary life? It seems as if the wild would become too monotonous or too lonely after a while. McCandless was a risk taker, after a while, i think even being in the wild would be too routine. However, going back to regular life seems as if it would have contradicted the purpose of his entire journey. I can't see him taking either route, and I can't imagine he'd want to stay in the wild. It seems like death was the only way out.

I think that he might have gotten tired of it for awhile, but he would have gotten itchy feet after awhile. He just seems like that kind of person to me. Restless.

eventually, i think he would get so lonely to the point where he goes insane. i'm trying to imagine him living out their for the rest of his life. he would die all by himself, how lonely. would he get the same attention if he died out there from old age?

If Chris had survived I believe he would have come to his senses eventually and decide to go back to his family. Starving to death is one painful way to die. And if someone would have found him before he died and sent him to a hospital where he would have been pampered and taken care of, he would have come to an understanding that this is not the way to live.

Throughout his life he went on trips all around the country, but Alaska was his own "Last Frontier." He wasn't planning on staying out there much longer anyways because he had made a commitment to his work with Wayne. I think Alaska was the final trek for Chris, that's he was so passionate about it. He wanted to reach the conclusion of his adventure, both physically and mentally. After the trip he most likely would have gone back to work for Wayne and settle down. Not settling down like the usual meaning, but be less of an adventurer. Or maybe he would just go on an even bigger adventure. Either way seems reasonable now that i think about it.
